Sovereign Hills community embrace new businesses in their backyard

The Sovereign Hills community has embraced the latest businesses to open their doors in the highly anticipated expansion of Sovereign Place Town Centre.

The Sovereign Vet Hospital, Your Life Fitness Centre, and Painted Horse Tattoo and Barber business owners came together for the official opening of their new premises on Monday, 26 June.

They were joined by Lewis Land Group Chief Executive Officer Matthew McCarron and Member for Port Macquarie Leslie Williams MP who were both delighted to hear how the community is supporting the new businesses.

“We’ve been thrilled by the number of locals bringing their pets in to say hello,” shared Kirrily McWilliams from Sovereign Vet Hospital.

“The local addresses being entered into our system are a wonderful show of support by the local community. It seems they're as excited to have us here as we are to meet them and their furry, feathered or scaled loved ones. We already feel a real engagement with the community of Sovereign Hills and Thrumster.”

Locals from the surrounding community, and beyond, have also made tracks to the 24-hour gym, adopting a new fitness regime in a fresh environment.

“The new gym is growing every day; people love the new fit out, equipment and the vibe of the whole Centre here,” commented Your Life Fitness Centre owner Gavin Wilcox. “It’s so convenient for local residents, plus having access to two Your Life Fitness Centre’s with one membership is great for locals.”

Painted Horse Tattoo and Barber’s Sunny Turner said staff members and clients alike are enjoying the new venue and the supporting convenience offering.

“Our 10 full-time tattoo artists have back-to-back bookings. Their clients travel from all over. It’s a great central location.

“The barber shop is getting busier and busier… Our main client base is happy mums, bringing their kids in for haircuts; it’s important for children to feel welcome at a barber shop.”

The official opening is a positive step forward for the Sovereign Place Town Centre and represents renewed business confidence in the local economy, according to Lewis Land Group.

“These exceptional businesses are contributing to the overall experience the centre offers,” explained Mr McCarron.

“We have assembled a diverse range of tenants that are individual “local heroes”, but that collectively offer a unique experience for our customers. All of us at Lewis Land Group look forward to witnessing the continued success of these businesses.”

Member for Port Macquarie, Leslie Williams said it has been amazing to see the Centre grow in popularity over the past few years.

“Even Parliament had the foresight to see this area becoming the new growth Centre of Port Macquarie by relocating the electorate office to the Sovereign Hills Town Centre just over 12 months ago.

“I am looking forward to seeing the Centre expand even further over the coming years,” Mrs Williams said.

Sovereign Place will grow in stages, from the existing 5,200m2 Stage One to 40,000+sqm over the next decade. The Centre will not only service the surrounding Sovereign Hills residential community but the wider Port-Macquarie Hastings region and beyond.

LLG’s vision for the precinct not only includes the creation of a unique shopping district but a cutting-edge business hub designed for the future.
