Electric vehicle motorists can add another convenient Mid North Coast recharge destination to their travel itinerary with the arrival of Tesla’s newest Supercharger site, just in time for the Christmas holidays.
On 21 December 2023 Tesla opened six Supercharger stalls at Port Macquarie’s Sovereign Place Town Centre, located conveniently close to the junction of the Pacific and Oxley Highways, near the halfway point between Sydney and the Gold Coast.
The six new stalls are the first of 12 destined for Sovereign Place and will allow motorists to take a break while they recharge their vehicle.
Developed by Lewis Land, the pioneers of the Harbour Town Outlet shopping experience, Sovereign Place is an outdoor-focused centre featuring shopping, a full-line IGA Supermarket, cafes, restaurants, a chemist, specialty stores and infants’ playground.
“Sovereign Place provides motorists with the perfect place to stop and refresh,” said Lewis Land Acting Head of Retail Tania Rucioch.
“While they’re recharging their vehicle they can enjoy a coffee or meal, stock up on groceries at the IGA Supermarket, visit the chemist, buy a gift, or even have a haircut at the barber. And all of this, within an architecturally-designed nature-filled oasis, just off the Pacific Highway.
“It’s also good news for local EV motorists who now have another Port Macquarie recharge option.”
The Sovereign Place charging station is part of Tesla’s mission to create an extensive and reliable Supercharger network.
The Tesla Supercharger stalls can be utilised by non-Tesla vehicles, helping to meet the increasing broader demand for EV charging destinations.
The Sovereign Place Town Centre is located at 15 Chancellors Drive, Port Macquarie, 1.6km from the Pacific Highway.
